Chaper 3 Speaks of bridling the tongue which brings about a spirit of meekness, and getting wisdom.
Verses 1-12 We R not 2 use our tongues as a Lord over others. We should not say things as tho we R sitting on a throne.
When speaking or teaching we should do it as tho we R learning ourselves as well as the ones we speak 2.
We R all sinners, and as such we should think more of our own offenses and not worry about what others have done.2 bridle our tongue,2 keep hold on it,is a great task and if U can achieve this goal,U will have rule over yourself.U will have become more advanced in your christian walk.If u have the grace and the wisdom 2 bridle your tongue the rest of your life will follow.
Even tho our tongues R jus a small part of who we R,they will cause a great deal of good or hurt.
The tongue all on its own can b a world of iniquity. The tongue can defile the entire body.
Bridling the tongue is not something impossible, but it is something very difficult. It takes watchfulness, pain and prayer. An unbridled tongue hasnt a care in the world.
We must never use our tongues 2 curse or slander or anything like this.It is for prayer and praise.
2 use our tongues 2 perform both is really absurd.A true religious man would never use his tongue 2 do both.
Verses 13-18 The difference between men pretending to B wise and really being wise is getting knowledge from above or knowledge from below.A wise man will not think himself valuable just because of all the things he knows.
True wisdom is known by its works. Not just n words but n every deed. When we are mild and calm then we R best able 2 hear reason and speak well.Glory is taken away from 1 who has an opposite character, such as envy and strife.
The heart is the base of all characters and they cannot dwell 2gether.
True wisdom is a gift from God.It is pure.and peaceable. Those who R wise do everything they can 2 maintain peace.
Heavenly wisdom makes one gentle, not rude or overbearing in conversation. It makes one able 2 4give those who offend. It has no disguise or deceit, because it is busy being sincere and open.
TRUE WISDOM SOWS FRUITS OF RIGHTEOUSNESS AND PEACE,WHICH PRODUCES A HARVEST OF JOYS!
